An Essex council is expanding its planning team to help it deliver on growth commitments, including the construction of 7,800 homes.

Rochford District Council said that it is working to help deliver a minimum of 90,000 new homes as part of a joint strategic plan, with 7,800 of these homes needing to be built in its area.

The council has created a new post of planning manager (development management) to help assist with the delivery of the local plan commitments.
