Rochdale Borough Council has created the new post of head of planning services to help it tackle growing development pressures.

The council, which forms part of the Greater Manchester city-region, said it is experiencing significant growth and investment.

It said that the creation of the new post “reflects our belief that planning is central to our growth ambitions and to ensure Rochdale Borough is viewed as a great place to do business, live and visit”.

According to the council, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of its new local plan, and will be “heavily involved” in the preparation of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework.
