Skills and capacity shake-up leads to north London planning expansion
A north London council is expanding its planning team following a recent restructuring to beef up its skills and capacity.
The London Borough of Haringey's assistant director of planning Stephen Kelly told Planning: “We want a greater number of permanent staff.
“This is following a restructuring of the service including the redrafting of staff role profiles and creating a more contemporary office, offering more flexibility and defined career progression.”
The council is looking to recruit a host of planning posts across development management and policy, including four planners in development management in the east and four in development management in the west teams.
The borough currently has a core planning staff of 12 in development management and five planners in policy.
