Great Yarmouth plans strategic planning push
A Norfolk council is looking to expand its strategic planning team with two new posts to help it work on regeneration and economic development.
Great Yarmouth Borough Council is looking to recruit two strategic planners to expand a policy team of three planners led by principal strategic planner John Clements and including two other senior planners.
Clements told Planning: “We have an adopted core strategy and are involved in a wide range of projects from regeneration and economic development and need more staff to deal with the work.”
“The posts are very much 'planning policy plus'; it's not just focusing on producing documents, but making a difference on the ground as part of a results-focused team.
“We have waterfront regeneration, industry and off-shore energy as well as protected landscapes for the team to address through preparing local plans, delivering projects and working in partnership with local groups.
