A London planning consultancy has expanded by moving office and taking on two members of staff.

Porta Planning, which moved last week from an office near Oxford Circus to George Street, W1, has recruited Rik Dorbeck from the London Borough of Islington to be a senior planner. Nicola Miller also joins from the JTS Partnership and is a junior planner.

Dorbeck, who reports to partner John Bowles, told Planning: “We are doing residential work but the planning agenda is being driven primarily by education and commercial work.

“This is due in part to the improving economy and government investment. One of our projects is for BAA in Barrow, which is gearing up to build a new type of submarine.”
