AstraZenecaA booming high-tech economy in the east of England is forcing planners to sharpen their focus on the knock-on demand for housing.

Endurance Estates Strategic Land director Tim Holmes told Planning: “We are very busy with growth in Cambridge and East Anglia.

“Relocation of AstraZeneca and the high-tec economy, led by leading companies with local offices such as Apple and Spotify has led to demand for more homes to meet the employment demand.”

Endurance Estates Strategic Land, a Cambridge and London based land-promotion company, is looking to recruit a strategic land and planning manager.

“In the last two years planning permission has been obtained for over 2,500 residential units and 200,000 square foot of mixed-use retail and office accommodation,” said Homes.

The new postholder will evaluate the planning potential of opportunities, predominantly focussed on sites delivering between 20 and 250 residential units, within a two-hour drive of Cambridge.”
