Planning firm expands as workloads rise
A planning consultancy says it has handled almost 500 planning applications so far this year after extending its office and expanding into new sectors.
Walsingham Planning, with an office in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, and Knutsford, Cheshire, has seen workloads jump, principally, it says, from corporate clients in retail and housing.
Director Stephen Brooker (pictured) told Planning: “We made more than 400 planning applications to 158 different councils with a 95% success rate in 2014.
“The likelihood is we will exceed this in 2015. We regularly work on enforcement and listed building issues in addition to development proposals of all types.
“We are expanding the business,” said Brooker. “In the last five years we have added specialist retail and residential sector skills to our expertise in the leisure and sports sectors.”
The firm is looking to recruit a planner to work from its newly extended Bourne End office, writing reports, making applications, dealing with appeals and analysing planning situations.
