St NeotsA planning restructure at Huntingdonshire District Council has prompted a recruitment drive to take on a senior policy planner.

Head of development Andy Moffat told Planning: “We are reshaping the service to bring strategic development and infrastructure into policy because there are more synergies.”

The district council, situated in the Cambridge-Peterborough growth area, is looking to recruit a planning service manager to join a team currently numbering 15 planners.

“The new postholder will manage our planning policy, implementation and strategic development team,” said Moffat.

“We are currently dealing with a range of very big applications including expansions of our historic market towns of St Neots (pictured), Huntingdon, St Ives and Ramsey and the delivery of town centre redevelopment and enhancements."
