Council planning team recuits as housing demand grows

Strong housing demand has prompted a council to expand its planning service to take forward new developments.

South Holland District Council has recruited Karen Johnson from Darlington Borough Council to fill the post of planning policy officer.

Her post operates within the South East Lincolnshire Joint Policy Unit (JPU), a combination of the South Holland District Council and Boston Borough Council planning policy teams. 

JPU Manager Gary Alexander told Planning: “Karen will help prepare a new local plan. Both Boston and South Holland and very pro housing development".
