Peter Brett Associates makes two appointments

Development and infrastructure consultancy Peter Brett Associates has appointed Dougie McDonald (above) as director of transport in Scotland.

He was previously international director and UK transport planning director at MVA Consultancy (now SYSTRA), where he worked for 25 years.

Based in the firm’s Glasgow office, McDonald will be responsible for developing the firm’s transport business across the private and public sectors.

His experience covers transport planning, modeling, assessments, consultation, parking strategies, scheme appraisal, forecasting and economic evaluation.

Scott Witchalls, head of transport at Peter Brett Associates, said: “Dougie has an exemplary track record in delivering major transport studies and projects across Scotland. We very much look forward to working with him at this exciting time for development and infrastructure delivery in Scotland.”

Meanwhile, the firm has also appointed Darren Tweed as a senior planner in its Manchester office.

He joins the practice from Calderdale Council in West Yorkshire and also previously worked at Pendle Borough Council.

Tweed specialises in retail and town centre policy.

Peter Brett Associates director Bernard Greep said: “We have appointed Darren is because we are expanding against the background of an improving market. He is already busy on a range of commissions for public and private sector clients.”
