Housebuilder Persimmon Homes is poised to expand its planning team with the appointment of a development planner as the company plans to bring more expertise in-house.

According to the company’s technical director for the south coast region, Karl Endersby, the company is recruiting the additional town planner because it wants to build up its “internal skillsets”.

“We also want to have more control over the quality of the planning consents we obtain and meet our group’s objectives,” he added.

The additional planning post will also help the company meet the demands of its expanding activities.

“Development has picked up across all the sectors of the market particularly in the south,” Endersby explained.

The new town planner will be based in Fareham should preferably have some residential experience and a good grounding in the profession, the firm said.
