Patel moves to Savills' Manchester planning team

Jay Patel, SavillsJay Patel has joined the Manchester office of property consultancy Savills as a director in the planning department.

Patel joins the firm from Deloitte Real Estate in Manchester, where he worked on a number of Manchester city centre regeneration projects as well as work on Manchester Airport growth.

Jeremy Hinds, planning director and head of Savills’ planning team in the North, said that Patel had been appointed for his “wide ranging knowledge of the statutory planning system as a result of his combined public and private sector experience”.

A chartered planner, Patel rose from senior planner to assistant director during his time at Deloitte, which he joined in 2007.

Previously, he worked as a planner at Manchester City Council, a planner at Leicester City Council and an assistant planner at Wandsworth Borough Council.

He has a master’s degree in town planning from University of Manchester and has an associate membership of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment.
