Oxford makes six appointments to planning team

Adrian Arnold, Oxford City CouncilAdrian Arnold has been appointed new development management service manager at Oxford City Council.

Arnold joins the team from Kettering Borough Council where he was temporary major projects manager, working on an urban extension of 5,500 new homes.

He is one of six new appointments at the council, including four new planning apprentices.

Patsy Dell, head of planning and regulatory services at Oxford, said: “We are particularly pleased to have been able to recruit four new graduate apprentices to train as planners within our service.

“This investment in developing our own staff is a key part of our approach to developing a high quality, sustainable planning service at Oxford now and in future.”

Arnold is the former director of planning services at West Northamptonshire Development Corporation, where he served between 2006 and 2012.

Also joining the team is Sian Saadeh, who will become development management team leader.

She has arrived from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, where she was senior planner then team leader.

Saadeh has a master’s degree in spatial planning at Oxford Brookes University.

The new graduate planning apprentices are John Van Veghel, Juliet Evans, James Paterson and Sarah Chesshyre.
