Oldham planning chief steps down

The head of planning at Oldham Council has stepped down, the local authority has confirmed.

Oldham Council said its former head of planning Stephen Irvine has stepped down from the role but would not give any reasons why.

Helen Lockwood, deputy chief executive of the council said: "I can confirm that Stephen Irvine has resigned as head of planning at Oldham Council.

"We wish Steve well in the future and thank him for all his hard work for Oldham Council over the years."
