Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council is recruiting for a number of newly-created posts following a restructure.

The authority is looking for two senior planning policy officers and a spatial information and monitoring officer to join its planning policy and economic development team.

The council said it made the move to improve the balance in the make-up of the department’s workforce.

Dale Peppitt, principal planning policy and economic development officer, told Planning: “We want to get more of a rounded team and a better balance between different seniority levels.”

The new staff will work on strategic planning issues, including helping to compile the evidence base for the authority’s local plan, which is set for examination in the autumn of this year, Peppitt said.

The plan proposes more than 10,000 homes over the plan period from 2011-2031.

The council said that the restructure has been going on since 2015, when it brought planning policy and economic development together into one team to help foster a more joined-up strategic approach to encourage investment.
