New strategic planning director for development consultancy

Land and development consultancy Terra Strategic has appointed a new strategic planning director.

Planner Richard Pitt joins the firm, leaving his previous role as a senior planning manager at housing association Bromford.

He has previously held both public and private sector roles, including as associate land and planning director at planning consultancy Mather Jamie, strategic planning specialist at land promoter IM Land, planning manager at developer Barratt Homes, and senior planner at Wolverhampton Council, where he spent more than eight years.

Pitt, who has a master’s degree in spatial planning from Birmingham City University, as well as a post-graduate diploma in urban design, said that his specialism is “identifying and assessing new development opportunities and proactively managing the promotion of strategic sites through the planning process.”
