Wiltshire Council has recruited several staff to drive through a number of projects including the implementation of its new core strategy planning document.

The new recruits are temporary senior planning officer Mark Cooke, planner Anna McBride and assistant planning officers Deborah Frith and Daniel Wilson. Jo Foster has been promoted to planner.

Spatial planning manager Geoff Winslow told Planning: “We are coming towards the end of examination of some of the documents such as the core strategy.

“The new staff will help as we flip into the implementation phases. The strategy covers areas such as housing growth in Chippenham and housing supply up to 2026.”

He said the spatial planning service was delivered by three teams based upon a geographical division of Wiltshire into north, central and southern zones.

“Teams are currently working on the examination of the Wiltshire core strategy, preparation of two new site allocations, development of the Wiltshire Community Infrastructure Levy and neighbourhood planning", he said.
