Planning and design consultant Barton Willmore has made Martyn Earle associate planner in its Newcastle office as the company expands in the region and seeks to land more residential and energy project work.

Partner, James Hall, told Planning: “We opened the office a year ago and by July will have grown from three to five people. Expansion in the area is on the back of lots of volume housebuilding.

“Martyn will help us build on residential work and grow more in energy. We deal with large complex projects and he fits the bill."

According to the firm, Earle helped win planning permission for the tallest onshore wind farm in the UK, the Penny Hill Wind Farm near Rotherham.

He has previously worked for Banks Group and North Tyneside Council.
