New principal consultant for Planning Advisory Service
The Local Government Association’s Planning Advisory Service (PAS) has appointed a new principal consultant.
Peter Ford takes on the new role having spent 25 years working at Plymouth City Council, the last 12 of which he was the head of development management.
Ford said that in his new role he will mainly focus on advising local authority planning teams on development management and implementing design codes.
PAS has also appointed environmental management specialist Rebecca Moberly to the team after a career with Natural England, most recently on secondment to the Environment Agency.
In her role, Moberly will lead a Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) project helping local planning authorities implement the Environment Bill, in particular the proposed new requirement for biodiversity net gain in all new developments.
