Planning consultancy Nexus Planning has said it is looking to expand its activity into London following the appointment of its new chairman Peter Mawson.

Nexus was established last year as a subsidiary of the architecture and masterplanning consultancy Broadway Malyan to carry out mainly planning work.

Mawson, who was previously chief executive of West Northamptonshire Development Corporation and property consultancy Donaldsons, said that the consultancy was active in the south east and now wants to secure more planning work in the capital.

Mawson’s experience includes promoting major developments such as  an extension to Towcester town centre and a £350m campus for the University of Northampton.
