Neighbourhood planning officer appointed at Horsham

Horsham District Council has appointed Laura Bourke to the newly created post of neighbourhood planning officer within the authority’s strategic planning team.

Bourke joins the council from the Environment Agency where she worked as a planning advisor.

Caroline West, spatial planning manager at the council said that the role had been created to help the authority bring forward neighbourhood plans throughout the district.

She added that there are currently 13 neighbourhood planning areas already designated in Horsham, and a further two have been submitted for designation.

West said: “Laura had a keen interest in this areas of planning and many transferable skills to enable to her to undertake this exciting new role successfully. She is already working closely with a number of our communities.”
