Property consultancy Vail Williams has appointed Steven Neal as an associate in its Thames Valley office.

Neal, who is MRTPI qualified, arrives from Boyer Planning, where he was also an associate.

In his new role, he will cover commercial, residential and mixed-use schemes being promoted by the firm.

Speaking to Planning, Neal said: “The opportunity of coming here to lead a team was too good an opportunity to turn down.”

He said that the company was currently considering plans to expand the two-strong planning team in the office.

Neal has worked for all his career in the Thames Valley, beginning as a planning officer at Wycombe District council.

He then worked as a planning manager at Michael Shanly Homes before joining Boyer.

He has a bachelors in urban planning and a post graduate degree in environmental planning, both from Liverpool John Moores University.
