Mining specialist appoints planner

Viridor plantMultidisciplinary engineering, environmental and mining consultant Wardell Armstrong has appointed planner Nick Beale as a technical director for mineral estates management.

Beale is a chartered town planner and surveyor and previous posts include mineral estates manager with Tarmac and a planner for Newcastle airport.

Wardell Armstrong is one of the biggest minerals planning consultancies in the UK with clients including the Crown Estate and the Forestry Commission.

Company director John Pears said: “Nick brings a wealth of experience that will greatly benefit our clients and help to develop new plans for the management of mineral property.”

Recent high-profile contracts for the firm include acting as consultancy for waste management company Viridor for a residual waste treatment facility in Glasgow (pictured).
