Milton Keynes Council has appointed a new service director for planning and transport to help develop creative ideas such as driverless vehicles.

Anna Rose will leave her current job as head of planning and culture at Rugby Borough Council at the end of this month.

She told Planning: “The council is focusing on innovative ways to help people travel more easily such as by driverless pods, so it's an exciting portfolio.

“Milton Keynes also has a strong growth agenda, which fits well with the new towns and Garden City issues that are currently filling almost every Twitter page right now.”
