Sam Metson has been promoted from partner to planning team leader at consultancy Bidwells’ Chelmsford office.

According to Metson, he joined the firm in 2006 having obtained previous public and private sector planning experience with Chelmsford City Council and Strutt and Parker.

A chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and an associate member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, Metson said that he has worked on a range of projects at Bidwells, including a major urban extension to Felixstowe and proposed green belt release of a 17-hectare NHS site in the London Borough of Redbridge.

He was promoted to partner level in January 2017 before taking on the planning team leader role.

Metson said: “We have a great planning team here in Chelmsford, located in the heart of one of the strongest residential markets in the country and embedded in what is going on locally. There are huge growth opportunities in the south-east and we are looking forward to working with clients and playing our part to deliver them”.
