Simon McKee has joined consultancy WSP’s environmental planning team as technical director.

McKee leaves his current role as senior planning and environmental manager at Tamar Energy, where he worked since last year.

Previously, he has performed roles at private sector firms Covanta and Enviros, in addition to Buckinghamshire County Council.

According to WSP, McKee brings experience of energy planning and environmental impact assessments to the new position.

He graduated from University of Liverpool with a bachelors in geography and environmental studies, as well as a postgraduate diploma in environmental management.

He then gained a diploma in town and country planning from London South Bank University and is a full corporate member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

The appointment will see McKee working out of the firm’s Hertford office and is one of six the technical directors appointed by WSP across the UK.
