Consultancy Indigo Planning has strengthened its renewable energy and agricultural capability with the appointment of Guy Maxfield as associate director in its Manchester office.

Maxfield has more than a decade’s worth of experience in planning on complex projects in renewable energy and rural development.

Indigo said that his appointment has been made in order to enhance its capability in both of these areas.

Simon Neate, chairman of Indigo Planning, said: “In the early years of the company’s development rural planning was a key part of our work, and we are now keen to drive this sector forward to complement the housing and commercial development work which has been a key focus in recent years.

“Guy’s appointment signals our focus in this area and his capability will be an important boost to the business.”

Maxwell joins from land and property consultancy Roger Parry and Partners in Shrewsbury where he headed the firm’s development land promotion portfolio and led on a number of large scale projects.
