Will Martin, St. Modwen

Chartered town planner Will Martin has joined regeneration developer St. Modwen as planning manager.

Martin joins the company’s team in Leeds from wind farm developer Energiekontor UK, where he worked as a project manager.

In his new role he will take responsibility for overseeing the planning process for new sites and for planning applications on redeveloping residential, industrial and commercial land.

He will also appraise land for development opportunities across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the rest of the north of England.

Richard Bannister, Yorkshire and the North East regional director at St. Modwen, said the appointment would help the firm continue to expand and develop its existing property portfolio.

Martin has served spells at planning consultancies Deloitte and DPP, and also worked in a junior role at Harrogate Borough Council.

He has a master’s degree in town and regional planning from Leeds Beckett University and a bachelor’s degree in physical geography from University of Hull. He gained chartered planner status in 2010.
