A planning consultancy is gearing up for an increased workload after winning a number of major contracts, including nationally significant infrastructure projects.

The successes mean that the firm is now looking for up to five new planners at associate and senior level to join their team.

Sarah Price, director at Quod, told Planning: “We don’t tend to recruit ahead of work, but now we have a number of exciting and large projects coming up we need to take on new planning and development professionals.”

She said that recent government announcements relating to infrastructure, including the creation of a National Infrastructure Commission, had boosted the sector.

She added that it was becoming more challenging to find the calibre of candidate that the firm is looking for.

“We need to get the right quality of people and are finding that there are only a small number of those people in the market.

"We have to work very hard on recruitment to maintain the integrity and excellence on which we pride ourselves.”
