Maidstone eyes planning team expansion
Maidstone Borough Council is looking to expand its planning team with up to three new appointments to help it boost economic development and regeneration.
Development manager James Bailey told Planning: “We have seen an ongoing upsurge in workloads and need to consolidate the department by recruiting more permanent staff.
“We have an investment budget of £6m and provision for regeneration projects of £1.8m this year. We need a mix of new staff at junior and senior levels."
Major recent projects includes Park Wood, a regeneration project involving nearly 200 new homes, a shopping area and community facilities (pictured).
The council is looking to recruit planning officers to increase its development management team of 10 part and full-time planners.
