Macdonald joins Boyer in South West

New RPS planning director Alastair MacdonaldAlistair Macdonald has joined planning consultancy Boyer to head up its new South West office.

Macdonald joins the new branch based in Bristol from rival RPS Group, where he served as director since 2014.

He will be joined by James Millard as associate director, who moves from his previous role as principal planner at consultancy Pegasus Group.

Hayley Ellison, executive director at Boyer, said that the expansion was due to growth opportunities in the South West.

Macdonald has previously worked for planning consultancy Turley Associates, planning and architecture consultancy DPDS Consulting Group, and has been strategic planning manager at housebuilder Taylor Wimpey and principle planner at Pegasus Planning Group.

He has a bachelor’s in city and regional planning from University of Wales, Cardiff.

Millard also used to work for DPDS Consulting Group and started his career as a senior planner at Wiltshire County Council.
