Manchester-based planning consultancy How has appointed Neil Lucas as a partner.

Lucas (pictured, left middle) joins the firm from London consultancy DP9, where he served as a director from 2011.

In his role at How, he will oversee a team of planners specialising in large, urban mixed-use, regeneration projects.

Gary Halman, managing partner at How, said Lucas had been appointed because of his experience on some of the UK’s largest development projects.

His experience includes work on schemes including developer Lendlease’s Elephant Park at Elephant & Castle in London, the London 2012 Olympic Velodrome and developer Grosvenor’s Liverpool One scheme.

Prior to joining DP9, Lucas spent almost seven years at consultancy Drivers Jonas, rising to assistant director level

He has a bachelor’s degree in urban studies and planning from the University of Sheffield.
