Lizzie CliffordLizzie Clifford has been appointed as umbrella body London Councils’ new head of housing and planning.

In her new role Clifford is tasked with developing London Councils’ policy and influencing work in housing and planning.

She will also be responsible for ensuring London local government is influential in shaping London-wide and national policy, and providing policy advice to the organization’s leading members, member authorities and officers.

Clifford previously worked at the National Housing Federation (NHF), where she held the role of external affairs manager.

During this time she managed the NHF’s relationships with stakeholders including the Greater London Authority and London boroughs on behalf of housing associations. Prior to this, she worked in the organization’s policy team, working particularly on welfare reform and homelessness.

Clifford said she was looking forward to “working to secure the right conditions to enable London boroughs to provide great places for local communities across the capital”.
