A Hertfordshire council is expanding its planning team to help deliver growth priorities through its emerging local plan.

Hertsmere Borough Council is in the early stages of preparing its new Local Plan for Hertsmere.

Consultation on its issues and options document closed on 30 November 2017, and consultation on a preferred options document is planned for mid-2018.

The council said that on top of this it is facing other challenges, including the delivery of a housing zone and “other place-focused growth and infrastructure strategies within Hertsmere and the wider strategic area”.

The council is looking to take on new members in its planning team to take on the extra workloads.

“These additional posts will be key appointments within our planning and economic development service, given the scale of our ambition and expected growth”, the council said.
