Ian Ford at Arup

Consultancy Arup has appointed Ian Ford as a planner, joining from urban design practice IBI Taylor Young.

Ford will work alongside associate director Paul Grover in the firm’s Liverpool office across a range of disciplines.

Arup said the appointment was the result of an increasing workload partly related to its work on developer Peel Holdings’ Liverpool Waters development, which was granted planning permission in June 2013.

Grover said: "Arup is committed to identifying, securing and nurturing local talent, and to this end we have been actively seeking out an exceptional individual in the Liverpool market that will add value to our business and support the needs of our clients."

Ford worked at IBI Taylor for three and a half years following his graduation from University of Liverpool with a masters in civic design planning, accredited by the RTPI.

He told Planning he is expecting to gain MRTPI status in June this year.
