A major International law firm has expanded its team of infrastructure consenting and property specialists with new planning appointments.

The expansion is led by Jan Bessell, a former examining inspector at the Planning Inspectorate who was lead inspector on the Thames Tideway Tunnel major development consent order.

She told Planning: “This bespoke appointment reflects an expansion around national infrastructure and development planning.”

Another planner, Tom Edwards, joins as an associate from DLA Piper, and is a specialist in energy and infrastructure planning.

Two property experts, associates Emma O’Gorman from Squire Paton Boggs and Richard Turnbull from CMS, have also joined the company.

Head of infrastructure planning and government affairs Robbie Owen said: “Government and private sector sponsored major infrastructure schemes are core to our practice.”
