Industry representative body the Land Promoters and Developers Federation (LPDF) has appointed the immediate past president of the Royal Town Planning Institute, John Acres, as policy director.

According to a statement from the body, Acres started his career in local government in London, later moving to the Midlands to serve for 10 years with the House Builders’ Federation.

Since then, he has worked with housebuilder, Redrow Homes, and subsequently Warwick based developer Catesby Property Group, culminating in seven years within planning consultancy – four years at Turley and then through his own Acres Land & Planning Ltd.

The LPDF said the appointment would allow it to “play a fuller role in the housing debate”.
