Consultancy Indigo Planning has responded to a jump in residential and commercial work by expanding its Manchester office and taking on a new planner.

Deborah Baker joins from the planning policy team at Chester East Council to help tackle increasing developer residential and commercial activity in the north west.

Indigo's Manchester's director, Doug Hann, told Planning: “Housebuilders are keen to find sites while strategic land clients want to acquire land, not just green but brownfield as well.

“Commercial development is also taking off and we are doing a lot of distribution warehouses and general asset management of areas such as retail parks.

“Manchester seems to be the main place outside of London where optimism and development is coming back quicker than elsewhere.”
