Cheltenham-based consultancy Hunter Page Planning has appointed three new planners to help the firm handle rising workloads.

Planner Lee Powell has joined the company along with graduate planner Jocelyn Muir.

Hywel James is due to join as a graduate planner this August.

Senior planner Anne Pawsey said most of new work is for large housing developments.

She said the firm had recently secured planning permission for housing and retail at the former RAF Newton site.

The scheme for 500 homes, 50 live-work units and commercial space would stand on 72 hectares of the former RAF base on the Nottingham-Derby green belt.

“More housing has come on stream. Since the release of the National Planning Policy Framework there has been more housing allowed and it's much more positive now”, Pawsey said.
