Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council in Leicestershire is looking for a principal planning officer to help the authority deliver two urban extensions.

Andrew Thompson, the council’s development manager, said the successful candidate, who would report to him, would head a 10-strong planning team.

He said the job would involve working on two sustainable urban extensions to the north-east of Hinckley at Earl Shilton and Barwell, to help the council meet its five-year housing land supply target, as well as deal with a growing case load.

They would also play a lead role in a number of urban regeneration projects, Thompson added, including the revival of Hinckley town centre.

He said: “We are looking for somebody who’s outward looking, business-friendly and capable in terms of dealing with major applications in both urban and rural locations.”
