Havering expands development management team
Growing housing demand in Havering has prompted planners at the London borough to seek to expand its development management team.
The council's planning manager for projects and regulation, Simon Thelwell told Planning: “We are expecting a significant increase in the number of large planning applications.
“We need to expand to meet the ongoing demand. We have two designated housing zones and are undertaking a big housing regeneration of existing stock across our estates (pictured).
“Our estate regeneration plans involve concentrating the majority of new housing together with necessary infrastructure improvements.”
The borough is looking to take on two principal development management officers and a senior planner to expand a development management team that currently numbers about 13 planners.
