Development consultancy GL Hearn has appointed Chris Pittock (above) as planning director in its Bristol office.

Pittock, a chartered planner who also has a BA in town and country planning and a diploma in urban design, has been recruited from the firm's London office, where he has worked for the past year.

He will be joined by Richard Clare, who is joining the Bristol office as senior planner. He joins from Stroud District Council, where he was a senior planning officer.

Tony Clements, head of the Bristol office, said: “We are delighted to welcome these experienced professionals to the team. Each brings a great deal of hands on experience in the field and will be great assets to GL Hearn’s growing Bristol offer.”

Clements was recently promoted to become the head of the Bristol development group, with responsibility for overseeing the firm’s office in the city.

The Bristol team is currently working on promoting and delivering several major urban extension projects across the South and South west, which it says could collectively deliver around 10,000 homes.
