Fees boost prompts Croydon planning team expansion
The London Borough of Croydon is expanding its planning team in the wake of the recent rise in planning fees.
The 20 per cent fee increase, introduced in January this year, has given planning departments a welcome financial boost after years of central government funding cuts.
Croydon Council said the move has enabled it to seek to expand its planning team team to take on a “pace of change and growth” not seen in the borough since the 1960s.
The council is looking to take on a planning enforcement officer, two planning officers and a planning applications team leader.
