An estate agency in the east of England is raising its planning profile to tackle an upswing of work in residential and commercial sectors.

Head of Durrants' building consultancy Trevor Musk told Planning: “Our building consultancy team of planners, architect and surveyors is an emerging department within Durrants.

“This is a very well established practice, we've been running for 160 years, and are well known as estate agents, with five offices, covering Norfolk and Suffolk.

“But we are keen to take advantage of the growth in several markets and are looking to grow in planning in the next four years.”

Durrants is looking to recruit a new senior planner to advise clients on projects such as residential developments ranging from five to 60 homes, agricultural-to-residential change of use and community schemes.

“We are also looking to move into more public sector work and have submitted a number of pre-qualification questionnaires in response to this drive", said Musk.
