The London Borough of Enfield is looking to recruit two senior planning officers to help drive through large-scale regeneration projects.

Planning decisions manager Sharon Davidson told Planning: “Enfield has a big agenda for regeneration and the improving economy may be adding emphasis.

"We are seeing more applications across the board coming through, not just for large-scale projects but for smaller work as well.”

Davidson said the planning officers would safeguard the area's urban heritage as well as exploit modern development opportunities.

“The development management service has been strengthened to achieve these commitments by delivering well-designed, sustainable developments that contribute to the regeneration of the area.”

The senior officers will deal with applications for varied industrial, retail, business, residential and public sector proposals, she said.
