Manchester planning consultancy HOW Planning has appointed Alex Eatough as senior planner.

Eatough joins the firm’s retail team from an equivalent role in the Manchester office of rival consultancy JLL which she joined in 2013.

She will work on projects for retail firms and developers including Aldi and Lateral Properties, the company said.

Richard Woodford, partner at HOW Planning, said that the appointment had come in response to an increase in retail business.

Prior to joining JLL, Eatough worked as a planner and sustainability consultant for Deloitte Real Estate, and achieved chartered planner status in 2011.

She gained a masters in town planning from the University of Manchester in 2008 and a bachelors in geography from University of Leeds in 2006.
