Staff from DTZ offices across the country

An upswing in work for the education sector has prompted consultancy DTZ to expand its planning team.

New recruits include senior consultant Claire Wilkinson who joins the London office from Iceni.

Assistant consultant Claire Biddle is based in the consultancy's Birmingham office and joined DTZ from environmental and planning consultant MJCA.

Planning director Karen Charles told Planning: “Education is driving growth for us right now. We do a lot of work for the government's Education Funding Agency, which delivers free schools.

“Its goal is to try to develop more free schools each year across England but the focus tends to be in  London where demand is strongest.”

Meanwhile, James Donlon is due to join the firm's London office as a consultant later this month and Mark Jackson has been promoted to director in Birmingham.
