Planning consultancy DLP is expanding its team due to an increase in business in the south of England.

The firm is looking for three associate planners, a senior planner and a number of graduate planners to work out of its offices in Bedford and London.

The associate planners will be expected to manage their own workloads to lead planning projects and possess at least five years’ experience.

A statement from the firm said: “The position of associate planner is a key post and offers an opportunity to progress to associate director and director levels.”

These roles will involve presenting at examinations in public and other appeal work, along with policy and development management work on behalf of clients.

They will also require the management of junior staff and database management.

Senior planners will provide support and may have responsibility day to day for more junior team members.

The DLP Consulting Group was formed in 1991 and has offices in Bedford, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, London, Milton Keynes and Sheffield.

Earlier this month, the firm successfully secured planning permission for a mixed-use scheme on the former Gatecrasher nightclub site in Sheffield, following its demolition after fire damage in 2007.
