Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) expert Helen Dias has joined economic development consultant SQW as a director.

Dias moves from property and planning consultancy Savills, where she had been an associate director since 2007.

She has also worked for Arup and Gerald Eve, and recently completed a secondment at the Department for Communities and Local Government to advise on CIL.

Chris Green, chief executive of SQW Group, said: “Helen’s experience of funding and delivery mechanisms, particularly those linked to the planning system, will strengthen further our offer to private and public sector clients”

Dias said: “Changes to the planning system are generating both challenges and dilemmas across all parts of the UK.”

She has a bachelors degree in town and country planning from the former Polytechnic of South Bank.
