Cotswold District Council is expanding its planning policy team in order to help the authority with the preparation and submission of its local plan.

The council is currently recruiting for a temporary principal planning officer in its forward planning team, as well as a permanent assistant planner in the same division.

According to the council, the principal planning officer will be expected to take responsibility for the delivery of a draft local plan for the authority by September this year.

The officer would then be asked to prepare the plan for submission to the Planning Inspectorate during 2015.

The council said that the primary role of the assistant planner would be to prepare and monitor housing and employment land availability studies and update the authority’s five-year housing land supply.

Cotswold District Council is also recruiting for a senior case officer to work in its development management team.
